About the Solano Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving Day Benefit Race

Solano Turkey Trot is a public benefit charity race in Solano County, California, comprised of 501(c)(3) partner organizations serving high-risk children, families, and seniors. We believe in a collective impact model to raise public awareness and education by holding fundraising and community events like the Solano Turkey Trot. This annual event began on Thanksgiving Day 2009, with the vision of bringing a family-friendly 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk to the local area. This event helps raise much-needed funds to support the Solano Hearts United partner organizations in serving local families in need.

Our Partner Nonprofits

The partner nonprofits include Meals on Wheels of Solano County and Suisun City Salvation Army KROC Center. The event is held in Suisun Valley in Solano County, with the main venue and start/finish line at Solano Community College. Our Race Director, Carol Gilpin, has been with us since our first race. Carol owns Fleet Feet Sports in Vacaville and has been active through running, walking, and triathlons for more than 35 years.

We are blessed to have this opportunity to “Give Thanks ♥ Give Back” to Solano County's high-risk children, families, and seniors living in Solano County. Hope to see you bright and early on Thanksgiving morning!
